Casany born in Valencia (Spain) ,begun his studies of music at Taller de Music’s in Barcelona and the Conservatory Superior of Valencia. Later in 1993 Casany moved to Berklee School of Music where he studied guitar under John Abercrombie. Casany finished his studies at Berklee and moved back to spain and began recording and performing across the country in both regional and national projects. The highlight of this period was to perform in a number of international jazz festivals playing with renowned musicians such as Hermeto Pascoal, Pat Metheny, Lou Benett, Jerry Gonzalez, Dave Schnitter, Greg Hopkins and Mike P. Mossman. Also participing in seminars with Barry Harris, Clare Fisher, Steve Brown, Bruce Forman, Kenny Burrel and Kurt Rosenwinkel. In 1996 he participated in the “Saxomania group” recording the album “Airegin” featuring guest piano player Hal Garper, winning the 4th annual competition for young jazz players.
